Ropes Course Facilitator Training JUNE 12-13, 2017 Ranger Mountain, Judith Gap, MT
This 2 day Entry Level High Ropes Course Facilitator Training (Level 1) Course is a part of our 4 day Christian Outdoor Leadership (COL) Seminar*, and provides participants with the basic skills and knowledge needed to confidently and safely help facilitate the newly constructed Ranger Mountain Camp High Ropes Course out in Montana. The course consists of six elements and a 200’ zip-line. It also serves as a refresher/certification for those already familiar with roped belaying and high ropes element facilitation techniques and practices. This course (Level 1) is a mandatory minimum requirement for anyone interested in helping to facilitate the Range Mountain Course in the future or other similar courses, and is suitable for both those with basic training as well as those with little or no experience.
In addition to the physical training, the course includes a time for assessment. To achieve certification, attendees must have completed a full 16 hours of Level I curriculum provided by Climbers With Christ anddemonstrate a practical working knowledge of all required high ropes course skills and techniques, and show an understanding of basic high ropes course construction and facilitation techniques at the time of certification. This course/training concludes with both a practical and written exam administered at the end of the training.
All participants will receive a certificate of completion exactly documenting his or her hours of Level I curriculum completed, and what skills and practical knowledge the participant has shown competency in during the course.
Knowledge of specific elements and operation of / Knots and their application / Set-up & Take-down techniques / Belaying / Knowledge of harness clip-in points / Awareness of belay anchors and/or use of shear reduction blocks (SRB) / Awareness of appropriate rescues techniques** / Special (site-specific) operating procedures / Overview of elements Biblical principles and application / Document technical skill and proficiency areas
2 days (of the 4 day COL Seminar) - 20 hours minimum; 16 hours training and 2-4 hours assessment

Course limits and requirements
